Professor Luciano Scaltrito of Chilab-ITEM recently undertook a collaborative trip with Mista to the Greater Bay Area and Hong Kong (China). The visit focused on fostering connections with prominent Chinese microelectronics companies, highlighting the ongoing importance of collaboration between academic institutions and industry in driving innovation within the sector.
The Italian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and Macao, in partnership with Deloitte, facilitated the business mission. During the initial four days, representatives from Mista, accompanied the Strategy and Operations Manager for the Italian Chamber of Commerce, engaged in meetings and visited facilities of technology and semiconductor companies such as Polyflow, BASiC Semiconductor, Innoscience, CYG, and STMicroelectronics. Meetings were also held with institutions including the ITA - Italian Trade Agency and the Qianhai Chamber of Commerce to gain insights into the region's innovation landscape and explore potential areas for technology transfer and collaboration.
The itinerary also included a meeting with Deloitte and Florence Wan at the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP), which featured a tour of the Experience Centre. The trip endend with a roundtable discussion at the ICC Office, where Exprivia IT Solutions (Asia) and Invest Hong Kong provided perspectives on digital transformation, innovation incentives, and future high-tech collaboration in the Greater Bay Area.
